On Wednesday, January 15, 2025 the Department of Justice issued a Press Release (25-58) which summarized some of its 2024 settlements of qui tam actions in the health care arena, military procurement fraud, pandemic fraud and various other fraud claims.
Of the $2.9 billion reported in 2024, over $400 million was paid in relator shares to whistleblowers. Remarkably, the DOJ reports that in 2024 there was an average of 18 new qui tam cases each week.
